Assalamu Alaykum,
8/20 was the first of Muharram month which indicates the beginning of the Islamic new year calendar 1442. I ask Allah in this new year to bless you with much happiness, stronger faith, and good health, and help you to fulfill your dream and make your best achievements.
The month of Muharram enjoys specific virtues, as compared to other months. Muharram means sacred and it is the first Hijri month and one of the four sacred months ( Zul Qaedah, ZulHijjah, Muharram and Rajab which are mentioned in the Holy Quran. Some scholars have mentioned the rewards in these months will be multiplied.
Our Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said about this month
“The best of fasts besides the month of Ramadan is the fasting in Allah’s month of Muharram and the best prayer after the Obligatory prayers is the Prayer of the night (Tahajood) . “Muslim”.
