Zakat-alfitr amount for this Ramadan. The minimum amount due is the equivalent of about 5 pounds of staple foodstuff, per member of the household, including dependants, even if they do not live in the same house. Approximately $15 per head is a safe estimated amount. Again, this is the minimum and it’s highly recommend to pay more if you can afford.
May Allah accept your fasting, protect you from all evils, and reward you for your worship.

This Eid will be a unique Eid where Muslims around the world are going to celebrate it at home. Eid will be this Sunday May 24 and families can pray Eid prayer at home anytime after sunrise and before zuhr prayer and don’t have to do khutba.
How to lead your family in Eid prayer at home? A Step by Step Guide

1. Intention to pray

In your Heart: ‘I am performing two raka’ah Eidul Fitr prayer

2. First Raka‘ah

Open the prayer with the Takbiratul Ihram (the first takbir i.e. Allahu Akbar) and then follow up with 7 more Takbirs. In between each two takbeer, you say ‘subhanallah, walhamdulillah, wala ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar’. Afterward, Al-Fatihah will be recited followed by another Surah (Preferably Surat al-A’laa).

3. Second Raka’ah

After you stand up, while saying the first Takbir you will then repeat the Takbir 5 more times and begin reading Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by another Surah (preferably Al-Ghaashiya).

Don’t forget to pay your zakat alfitr as soon as possible and before Eid prayer. It’s $15 per person that you can pay to your needy relatives or to the masjid by dropping it in the donation box or submitting it on the masjid website lubbockmuslims.com

May Allah accept your fasting, give you happy Eid, and bring us back to our masjid and regular life soon.
